Funding Success: New Project on Teaching Artifical Intelligence in Vocational Training

July 8, 2020 /

The Institute of Software Engineering has been granted funding for a four-year project by the Federal Ministry for Research and Education. Two PhD students will work on didactic concepts and supporting tooling for teaching artificial intelligence in vocational training.

Vocational training plays a big part in preparing for a job in Germany. Artificial intelligence, however, has been taught so far mainly in universities leaving a large group of people without specific training. The project KI B3 – Bringing Artificial Intelligence into Vocational Training will develop didactic concepts and tool support as well as evaluate it directly in trainings that run in parallel to the project. The outcome has the goal to become a standard training in our state of Baden-Württemberg and then the whole of Germany.
